Valley West Transport Ltd (VWT) is a Limited Company, incorporated in British Columbia on August 21, 1981. The company was formed to distribute lubricating oils from Burnaby to various points throughout BC and Alberta, originally for Gulf Oil. The principals of VWT have had many years experience in the petroleum transport business and bring this expertise to the day to day operations.
The majority of the business has been local and long distance transportation of petroleum (package & bulk) products. In recent years, it has been focused mainly on bulk transportation. VWT has evolved over the last 29 years into a full service carrier, an industry leader of petroleum products, specializing in Multi-Product/Multi location lubricant delivery. All the equipment is identified as Valley West Transport Ltd.
VWT holds Operating Authorities that permit operations from BC’s Lower Mainland to points in BC, Alberta, and any of the lower 48 States, and vice versa. VWT operates regularly into the U.S.A. and Alberta.
VWT dispatch handles well over 50 different types/viscosity’s of lube oils, which includes managing it over a large geographic area and industry type. Over the years, this has included many national car dealers such as General Motors & GM/AC Delco Supply, Ford, Honda, Mazda, and Hyundai. Also being serviced are Quick Oil Change operators, most major BC Forestry companies, Marine plants, direct-to-Ship deliveries, Chemical plants, Truck Dealers, Truck Loggers, industrial/mining companies. This requires accurate communication, planning & logistic skills to ensure proper scheduling for time sensitive deliveries by a strong quality trained staff.
VWT has just completed its 7th external ISO Audit, which has once again resulted in no findings, upgrading it previous standard to ISO 9001:2008. This accomplishment is the result of a maturing company with a Quality Management system that has imbedded itself in its culture. VWT became certified by the external audit process through Intertek Testing Services.(www.intertek.com) This standard requires internal audits & yearly external audits to maintain the standard, and also the setting of objectives/goals and continuous improvements, that includes the input of all employees.
Valley West Transport Ltd. maintains office and repair facilities at 2620 Bedford Street, Port Coquitlam, BC The repair facilities employs both certified Heavy Duty and Commercial Transport Mechanics. The Service Manager have had over 35 years of maintaining tractors, tankers, pumps, and other equipment that is special to the Petroleum Transport Industry. In addition to the maintenance of VWT’s own fleet, the repair facility also maintains other transport companies that mainly haul petroleum products. Our repair shop is certified as a designated BC Commercial Vehicle inspection facility and has certified inspectors on staff.
